Yeah you clearly understand hockey, Chris Neil on the second line? What a horrible line up and trade.

Not bad lineup. If you don't watch hockey I guess?

LOL didn't spend any time on line combos. Sorry.

Trade isn't horrible. Bobby Ryan is basically JVR with $3m more in salary. Move him. Maata will fit in nicely and Fluery is an upgrade over Andy (i know you refuse to admit that).

the D is actually very good. The lines I didn't spend time on but obviously chris neil is a fringe 4th liner at this point. Lazar would either need to play more minutes or they will meed to bargain shop for some help. This trade is to help in 2 yrs (kunitz off books, Maata development, bobby ryan off books) to make some moves to compete.

Bizarre you would think trading Bonby Ryan and Anderson would be a bad idea for a budget team. Neither are worth their contracts at this point.

LOL Anderson is underrated and is worth his contract and more. And Bobby Ryan, yes he is not worth over $7 million per year, but he is much better than JVR. Ryan had a 9 game point streak last season, so he's clearly got the talent level of an elite nhler, but his linemates did not help, nor did the coaching. He was put on the third line with Scott Gomez for over a month and still almost had 60 points. Besides, his leadership brings and his energy into the room is something the Sens need, and his shootout % has been his best last season. Derrick Brassard and better coaching will hopefully show that he is worth his big contract.

9 game point streak does not indicate elite player when you have played as many 50 pt type seasons as Ryan. He is a top 6 player easily but that's it. Ryan has limited upside given his skating and play away from the puck still hasn't developed to what it needed to be to make him reach his full potential.

You are honestly delusional if you think Anderson is "underrated". He had some vezina seasons, yes. But those days are behind him regardless of his supporting cast. He was 11th in the NHL last year in even strength save % with goalie with 2500+ minutes played. The only goalie ahead of him with less minutes (by about a full game) was the #1 rated Fleury. Maybe I underrated Anderson slights, but I have always maintained he is a league average starter. You clearly underrated Fleury by a ridiculous amount and fail to acknowledge the age gap.
