I am a much bigger fan of Murray than botterill. Murray had a plan, I have no idea what botterill is trying to do. Having said that, Murray didn't have an answer for the defense. It was time to move on, they just picked the wrong guy to move on to. There's two major problems right now, the middle 6 centers and right wings. Unfortunately the pieces that we can move to fill those spots hold not enough value in the eyes of 30 other gms. Moving higher value pieces just guts the roster. I believe we would be 100% better off if Murray wasn't fired, look how many assets of value were moved out for nothing- the ror trade wasn't pennies on the dollar, it was two buttons and a tic tac for a dollar. So even if you hate Murray's build, at least there would be real value assets to move right now.

He's just reversing some transactions that turned out REALLY badly for Buffalo to show how the team would look without them.

The O'Reilly trade was more or less forced. I don't think you can blame the GM for that. And you also have Ryan Johnson as a result of it, so the return isn't non-existent.
