Off-season 1st and 2nd Draft picks

Created by: carlcataclysm
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 24, 2020

Description
The team isn't changed drastically, but I believe this to be in the realm of possibility.

Assuming that Buffalo finishes out of the playoffs and picks around 9-12 in the draft.

1st pick Dawson Mercer -RW- 6'0 179lbs. 40gp 56pts
2nd pick Tyson Foerster -C- 6'1 194lbs 55gp 72pts

Eric Staal Still has game for an old guy and would be a good Stop gap 2C while we allow Mittlestadt and Cozins to develop.

Signing Sekera seems like a strange move but it provides solid veteran depth and leadership, Sekera knows what kind of culture the fans in buffalo expect and can help lead this team, he also knows what its like to win in buffalo and that's important.

Hell no on Goose. Hell no. I also don't know why the Devils trade for a goalie considering the UFA market is good at G.

Mercer would be good there. Always a little suspicious with big numbers in the q, but the mocks have him going around there, and it's clearly a position of need.

Tell me why you like Mercer instead of Jack Quinn. (Not arguing, just asking.)

Honestly size, Buffalo has been lacking forwards with any size for years and years we need some guys that are going to play heavy along with skilled and fast
