He's absolutely solid defensively, fast and scores on extremely high rate for a defensive forward.

He's pretty much what Bergeron was at the beginning of his career...

Top 10 .. easy .. in Selke vote as shut down 2nd line center BUT also on a 60 pts pace while no PP time but lots of PK .. oh and he 22 years old

He needs to refine his offensive skills more next couple years .. cant count how many times he has crashes into net going too fast and finesse is a foreign word to him .. lol .. BUT the comparison to a "poor mans Bergeron" has been my assessment since his rookie year .. only 2 years ago.

He's elite af defensively, is probably a better overall player than Stamkos rn, and he's def more valuable (bc age and likely next contract)

Weirdly enough that wasn't Bergeron at the beginning of his career. He has 70+ points his second and third year and then a major injury.

Bergeron had much more talent and maturity .. and why he played at 18/19. He never really played in an offensive system nor with any star wings until later in career .. truly one of best players this century .. interestingly Point has a better shot at being like Bergeron but probably not until later in career.

NHL was quite different in many ways in 2004... Even the game itself has changed.

Well, he is my fav player for a reason from this season. Likely stays for a while...
Last season(s) my fav was PointerZ.

One word: Selke

You just don't believe it, except if you watch every single TBL game.
He gives his 100% each and every shift. And he is not injury prone... unlike Stamkos...
I can't describe him any better: He hustles for the puck, like a cat for his prey.
Skates well...
When he is on the ice, the target is " The puck".
When defending/pk:distracting opponents to force bad plays.
When attacking:going to the net vs much bigger defenders. He doesn't afraid to fight as well, or be phyisical, even though he is not a big/230 pounds player...
He is faster, stronger, than last year = Still improving a lot...
I don't think he will ever reach Bergeron's offensive skill level, but a 50 points guy is still super useful on the ice each year, when his caphit is not off the charts...
Like imagine he is a mini "Sean Couturier/Bertuzzi/Ryan O'reilly/Tkatchuk/Rust/Toews/Kopitar". These players are "winner" type of guys.
Every team wants a few of these players. They just don't grow on trees. Like Gourde is fighting hard on the ice as well, but he sometimes disappears for 30 games... Or JT Miller is offensively gifted, but he also dissapeared a lot last year...So NHL it's not just all about points...
It's like all things combined: Being a center is a big+,Consistency,PK skills,Hockey IQ, defensive skills, speed, fightning spirit, work ethic,stick-checking,takeaways,faceoffs etc... like ten other things...
I have no idea how noone picked him earlier in his draft year... we were lucky let's just say it... like with Kuch...
...Or Point. Yeah,Point is much closer to Bergeron... Berg. is truly elite...looks like age doesn't matter to Berg...

Interesting to look at his draft year.
He had good numbers:
2014-15-Oshawa Generals-OHL
68g-36p
plus-minus chart: +34

The good thing that he kept the +- thing in NHL, because he never gives up to try to "outwork" the opponent(s).
Lots of players, like Matthews is a superstar and what they do: only offense and zero defense.
This year Matthews improved a lot as well, just like Cirelli, and he can become in like 2 years a complete 2 way forward. But we'll see. But Matthews has a 10 million $ + contract, so he has to be better...
We'll see at the end of the year how much $$$ Cirelli will get.. He deserves every penny, until he plays with this "unique style". He makes his linemates better. That's not that easy to do for a lots of players...

Oh yeah another similar player i just remembered: Brendan Gallagher.from Montreal Canadiens... really similar... maybe you know that player more...
Wish we could acquire Gallagher once wink No wonder he is a fan favorite as well...

I hope i helped wink

Did you write a rough draft or something? That’s very well done.
