This is all self inflicted and can be solved internally. Bellows + wahlstrom are exactly what we need right now. Two players that have elite shots and don't need much time to get them off.

You do realize that Wahlstrom has a sub 0.5 PPG in the AHL, like his team isn't the best, but still, he's 8th on the team in scoring... He also isn't lighting the world on fire with goals, he only has 8... Over the past 10-12 years, players that are ready and will become impact players in their U20 seasons score at about a 0.9 PPG in the AHL... That doesn't mean everyone who doesn't hit that is bad, but below that it's hit or miss, especially for a kid like him, he's not the most well rounded player (obv not what the isles need, but it's a good measure of how developed he is) and he's not lighting it up offensively so...
He's still probably at least another year out

He led the islanders in xGF% while he was up with the team. His defensive game isn't great but from an offensive standpoint he's ready and what we need right now.

Wahlstrom? He hasn’t scored a NHL point yet.

Who said he scored an NHL point? I said he led in expected goals %, the amount of expected goals generated by an individual player. At the NHL level, he was successful at generating offense. He also played most of the games with 4th line grinders...

Trotz's biggest issue (and this goes back to his Washington days) was playing young kids. It is clear Bellows offers more than Dal Colle and should immediately replace him. Trotz would definitely not play 3 (lineup includes Koivula also) rookies so Wahlstrom stays in AHL for now.

Trotz recognized last game that Leo cannot play center, he should go back to a scratch.

Martin no longer offers a physical factor beyond some hits, Johnston should play over him. Against the bruins the isles were physically dominated with no push back, Johnston is needed in the lineup.

Moving forward

Lee-Barzal-Eberle
Beau- Nelson- Brassard (would love Wahlstrom over Brassard)
Bellows- Pageau- Bailey
Johnston-Koivula-Clutterbuck

Next year:

Bellows-Barzal-Eberle (Bellows forechecks hard and is the shot Barzal needs on his line)
Lee-Nelson-Bailey (Veteran line that plays well together)
Beau-Pageau-Wahlstrom (Beau and Pageau plays fast and hard, they could show Wahlstrom how to play)
Johnston/ Koivula- Czizkas-Clutterbuck (Physical, strong defensively and fast)

Extras: Leo/ Ladd

Gone: Dal Colle, Martin, Kuhnacal,
