Description
Do not mind the lines, just focus on the trade. I think for Detroit it would be worth it but you tell me. I am sure Detroit would like to spend some of its money to acquire other assets, but they may strike out in the goalie market and to take on one year of Smith to have a chance to have your goalie of the future, it may be worth it.

Tyler Bertuzz will get 7 x 5.5 more then likely, Mantha if signed long term the Kreider deal 7 x 6.5, Don't want Smith back and Givani Smith is looking like a solid 3/4 liner easily.

Who's playing goalie next year?

Which free agents do you expect DET to sign?

Nope, Wings will resign Timashov. He's better than most of our bottom 6 already, he brings skill to a 3rd line that desperately needs more skill.

Yzerman will sign someone. He will overpay for a serviceable goalie like Markstrom.

Could possibly see Markstrom if he reaches free agency, Perhaps Greiss on a short term deal. Or maybe Yzerman makes a move to get Georgiev at the draft. Honestly not really sure wouldn't mind Lehner either for the right price.

I guess we disagree on that point. I think other teams can match what Yzerman would be willing to pay for a goalie, and the free agents will opt to go elsewhere. Plus, I figured Detroit would prefer a cost controlled goalie with a solid level of production to go with their oncoming young core. One year of Smith in another year where DET will not compete does not make a big deal, and even so, they should have plenty of money to go get at least a couple of free agents with Smith on the books.

Detroit got rid of Smith for a reason THEY ARENT TAKING HIM BACK! Come back with a deal that doesn't involve him or Andersson.
He is F#$%ing nuts.

One that has stayed constant since Yzerman has taken over he is building through the draft he most likely trading picks. All of this doesn't matter if NYR doesn't trade Georgiev!!! I think since NYR has 3 goalies Hank is the one who is out retire, buyout and even if Shesterkin plays every game left trading Georgiev would be foolish.

A) I do not think Hank is retiring, and likely does not want to move his NTC unless he goes to contenders close to NY. Will be tough to move him, and a buyout should not be considered an option. Worst case, they feel like they have to move Georgiev, and NYR can find backups until someone on their long list of goalie prospects are ready (Lindblom, Wall, Huska, etc.).
B) I was not even suggesting NYR should make the trade, but I thought this would make sense.
