If Sharks never traded away Hoffman and got Karlsson

Created by: Klara
Team: 2019-20 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 2, 2020
Published: Mar. 2, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
All of these trades go back to if the Karlsson and Hoffman trades never happened. This is obviously not exactly what the team would look like at this point. There is a logjam to hell of LW and C while the D is still pretty meh on the 3rd, but without a doubt this team would be a top contender.

A lot of these prospect trades are just to track down where all of the picks went and who they became.

The Goodrow, Braun, and Dillon trades likely don't happen (at least how they are now) if this is the team in 19-20.

Jones and Dell are still there but keep in mind that after the 16-17 offseason, they were both really good and worth their contracts.

All with 3.3m in cap space.

Please let me know if I missed something so I can change it.

This is just meant to show what the team would be if these trades never happened (and no other trades happened instead)

Lines need some work it looks like.
Hindsight’s always 20/20 so it’s not fair but it’s a fun idea and a good looking team (unfortunately).

ya there isn't really a way to make ALL of the pieces work together (which is why a lot of them were traded).

Justin Braun would still be a Shark though...I thought he was traded due to the re-signing of Karlsson?

I think it’s Whether you keep Demelo or braun playing. I thought the same thing you thought but then probably Demelo taking a spot ends up making us trade braun anyways

      Edit

Nvm we have heed in, yes we should have braun just realized

I was going to say, Vlasic and Braun were a good pair the last few years, if I remember correctly. I get wanting EK65 but man I think it hurt SJ in the long run..

and short run cuz EK has been injured back to back years and is now in the back 9 of his career. Ottawa was smart getting rid of him. even though it meant tanking a couple years.
