Description

Thought Process:

1. Niku or Edmundson gets claimed by Seattle.

2. Samberg plays a season in the AHL, Heinola plays 1-2 season in the AHL. Samberg replaces Niku or Edmundson. We have tons of good LHD prospects, so that is why I only signed Edmundson for 3 years. He either gets claimed, or could be moved if our younger guys are ready sooner.

3. Brossoit gets more money/term/chance on another team in Free Agency forcing us to sign a cheap, experienced back up. (Replace Kinkaid with anyone who fits the bill).

4. With 4 more years left on Little's contract...the Jets are not going to be signing an expensive 2nd line centre, sorry! Being paired with Wheeler and Ehlers would be a better fit. Anyone but Laine!

5. This leaves us with the necessary cap space next year to sign our RFA's as well.

I have made a few variations of this team already but I really like the way this squad looks.

I would rather just resign DeMelo instead of singing Hamonic. He's better and will likely be cheaper

In my opinion, Byfuglien is done playing hockey all together. I can say 100% he will not be back with the Jets and will have his contract terminated in the summer. He hasn't skated in quite a long time so I doubt he signs any sort of deal with a team during Free Agency.
