Strome is not better than Anderson

Anderson has marginal value compared to last year. Even jackets fans (for the most part) want him moved. Look at AA. He got two 2nds, and his season was more respectable than Andersons. Struggling players just don't get that big of a return. AA > Anderson, so that mean we are talking between 2 2nds and nothing. Also Anderson's best year is 10 points less than Strome is currently at. Strome is certianly more valuable.

tldr; if you said this last year i'd 100% agree, but both players have leapfrogged each other drastically.

Ryan strome is a replacement level player away from panarin. He is a passenger on a line with one of the best wingers in the game - and he’s going to want to be paid for his production that comes as a result of playing with panarin.

Anderson at least has proven he could be a solid middle 6 power forward. He’s had a brutal season, but he’s been unlucky. He’s also very good defensively, strome is one of the worst defensive players in the league.

Still, CBJ has too many wingers and their center depth is weak. I didn't think i gave all that much for Strome for that reason of his exposure to Panarin. However, he still is an upgrade over Jenner and Wennberg and accomplishes that need.

This is very one-sided for NYR. Strome may currently be better than anderson, but not Ryan Murray better, plus the Smith contract. Take out Murray and add a mid round pick back to CBJ

I can't get a good idea of what Murray is actually worth. I proposed the question to what i thought was a CBJ fan who was better between Murray and Savard (when healthy) and they said Savard. Murray is hurt so often that I can't imagine his value matches his worth. He expires too. It's pretty much worth evaluating what you need more - a top 4 defenseman who is always hurt or a potential 2nd line center stud

Lmao Strome sucks buddy..... he hasn’t done anything with a superstar to help him alone. He’s an average player and we’d be better off keeping Wennberg for the role, not trading Nuttivaara because the other trade didn’t happen so.... ouch....

what do jackets fans actually want to happen. I never see any moves that they want to happen. It just confuses me. (Not saying that because I believe this trade idea is fantastic, I just legitimately don't know what this fanbase WANTS to happen)

Personally I want to see what the team looks like fully healthy... they have some really good you g players but haven’t ever been fully healthy this year.

I would though move Anderson as he’s on the outs from the team, most CBJ fans would disagree.

What I see here though is four high end third lines. Other than PLD, there's no top line talent. Atkinson fell off - and though Bjorkstrand is close, he seems like the ideal 2nd liner than a top liner. Typically top line talent is something you draft, however it doesn't seem like this team is going the draft route.
Do they really have faith in their center core 2-4 in Wennberg, Jenner/Foglino and Nash? Also it seems like all of the prospects are capped at middle six. To me it just seems straightforward to trade one of these elite defensemen for an available center with term. That and some change of scenery trades for Wennberg and Anderson

And you think Strome is better then Wennberg, or Jenner? He’s had 2 good years... with Tavares, or Panarin...

Columbus has a top of middle 6 players. I wouldn’t even consider PLD top 6 yet... he takes too many shifts off for me, he just disappears in games if you watch him. Columbus is built for the Defence and that’s what runs the team.

I think you’re underrating some of their prospects, Foudy, Marchenko, and Texier could all easily be top 6 forwards. But I also thing it’s going to be Columbus style to role 4 lines and play good Defence and win games 2-1.

but those style teams never really get that far. that's what arizona is built on right now, and look at where they are. I think you guys are clinging to wennberg and jenner too much. Jenner on most teams is a fourth liner. And wennberg and tortz have been a bad combo. He needs to be moved, and soon. His value plummets by the season. So, i guess in the end, i would rather Strome over wennberg or jenner. It's not a long term solution though, i agree.

If you were to make one big trade, who would it involve getting?

Why do you want Ryan Strome ? Unless you have a world class player to play him with ( you don't ) then you're aquireing a 3rd line Center.

Murray is very clearly better when 100%. He’s probably worth somewhere between a 2nd and 4th rounder, depending on scenario. Anderson is still under team control and has tremendous upside. This year has been a struggle, mostly due to a nagging shoulder injury. I don’t the CBJ move him because he lost all contract leverage this season. They can re-sign lower than expected and hopefully have him return to form. CBJ need a center who can create for the wingers, not someone like strome who has always ridden coattails of great linemates

I’d like to see us go after a player like Domi, maybe an Anderson and Nuttivaara for Domi trade. Wennberg has been getting better recently, but got hurt and has been back for 2 games, and Jenner is more of a 3rd center, he can also play 2nd line in a pinch. Maybe watch Columbus play vs just looking at stats. Nash is a 4th line center.

The islanders are built on the same thing and they are looking pretty good.

As a canucks fan i watched them play last game. Obviously I didn't get a sense of everyone because of the injuries, but that game has lead to me trying to find some more CBJ solutions.

Do you really think Anderson still carries all that much value? I see him in an AA situation, but worse. AA peaked higher and was hanging on more so than Josh is. I don't think Anderson is worth any more than a 2nd any more.

Anderson is worth at least a 2nd. He’s better then he showed this season. He still have the ability to be a good player... just injured all season, it’s the fact that he doesn’t want to be in Columbus anymore that drops his value.

I want us to bring in a legit #2C. That's pretty much it. I was desperately hoping for a Savard-for-Kadri trade last offseason, but Colorado got him before we could.
