Draft Day Trades

Description
Our 1st Rounder if we don't win the lottery should go to Holtz. If we can get another late lottery perhaps the Jets we could go for Gunler as I think Lundell will be off the board.

Moving Strome who I just can't seem to see fitting with Dach makes sense to me if it helps us move forward long term. He can't play wing and Dach is better and has a higher ceiling. Nothing against Strome as I think he has upside and has proven with his point production here but we need to look at a long term plan and we need wingers.

Hopefully this move allows us to keep Saad as Im really not sure what will happen with our LTIR players.

This is purely draft day and not Free Agent signings.

Thoughts please on whether Jets would even consider though the concept is that we move Strome for a 1st and prospect.

I must also credit @ChiHawk who I have seen similar idea posted.
Trades
CHI
  1. Vesalainen, Kristian
  2. 2020 1st round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
This could also be Heinola or Samberg but I would think we would want something good in return not only because they are getting a NHL ready 2C but also a Conference Rival.
WPG
  1. Strome, Dylan
Additional Details:
We could add a late pick if they want to be tight.

I’m gonna stop getting my hopes up that Bowman would do something like this.

I just don’t think this could ever happen. Strome has gone cold. Meanwhile, that 1st of the Jets is a mid first rounder and vesalainen is their best forward prospect. That’s just too rich for Dylan strome.

Doesn't matter that he's the best forward prospect when they have 3 prospects ahead of him all on defense. What if they had 7 defensive prospects ahead of him? Point is, Vesalainen's value really doesn't change; he's a A- prospect IMO and that's that. Given that they are also getting a 22 year old center pretty much negates that.

Yeah, I think Lundell is of the board by pick number 12. Hard to say though; would love Holtz and Lundell. Couple that with Mitchell, Boqvist, Kubalik, Dach, and Cat and we have a serious core to play with as the old guard ages.

Id really like Holloway if he is still there at 12. Obviously I am biased because I go to Wisconsin so I get to see him live, but the kid plays fast, gritty, agitator hockey and hes got enough skill to put him as a 2nd line forward with 1st line upside if he puts it all together. Ive been hoping one of these years the Hawks would draft one of my boys or trade for them (still hoping on Trent Frederic) but they haven't come through quite yet.

Yeah Holloway is also an option!

How has Turcotte looked?

Hes been better recently, but took a while for him to get there. Definitely got speed, hands, plays the boards. Who knows how itll translate though. Im not upset about the Dach pick anymore, definitely think he'll be a player long into the future

I would not be opposed to Hollaway either.
