Due to the organization or the climate?

The Organization, i think he wants to stay in Tampa also at that cap hit tampa can still match but will have to risk losing our other RFAs

Do you have enough cap space for Laine's increase the following summer?

How? I see 5.4M in space next year (they’re probably losing any bump in space due to the overage this year)

But the other teams will let Tampa off the hook. Again.

Little's contract would need to be taken off the books, through retirement, buyout or trade. The Jets will also be losing one contract to Seattle. Based on this roster, it would likely be one of Copp or Roslovic.

Likely moving Killorn as his contract becomes P-NTC and the way he’s playing this year could increase his trade stock

From what Ive seen from Tampa fans on this site, Cirelli is way to valuable for the bolts to let go. THey are in cap hell, but they can still move two contacts in Palat, TJ, Gourde or Killorn (all with NMC/NTC) in order to make room for Cirelli and Sergachev. There would most likely be a handshake agreement where Cirelli agrees to not sign any offer sheets until tampa makes some room.

Not let them off the hook but I could see teams interested in Palat, Johnson, Killorn if they waive.

Zero chance Winnipeg uses the offer sheet in any circumstance, opens up a whole can of worms, especially with a ton of mediocre gms out there.

The problem with RFA's in TB is that they have to choose to want to leave. Just throwing a ton of money isn't necessarily going to get it done. What else can you offer? TB already has low taxes, great weather, All Star team, less media scrutiny, etc etc etc etc etc.

Also how much to people expect Cirelli to reasonably want to get? Brayden Point got 6.75M in TB after posting 90+ points in his last year. Cirelli is good but he realistically should only expect 3M-4M max in TB on a short deal. By the time he gets his big raise, TB will have liberated all their pending 4M+ UFA's that are no longer in the plans.

Its not impossible but it will take a player actively wanting to leave for something like this to work. Sergachev makes more sense only because he is stuck behind MCD and Hedman and maybe his ego wants him to be playing 25+ mins a night elsewhere. Cirelli slots in perfectly on TB.
