Interesting offer, but 6,000,000 for Strome?

Why would Columbus make that trade with the rangers? Strome isn’t any better then anything we already have. Strome has had 2 good NHL seasons... his line mates were Artemi Panarin or John Tavares... We don’t have anyone on our roster who could pull him along. Wennberg is just as good as he is, and being paid less.

Okay... that might be a stretch, but Strome is an average center... who’s been made good with his elite line mates... Columbus doesn’t have anyone good enough to carry Strome, like a Tavares or Panarin.

I see what you’re saying, so how does CBJ address the 2C spot? Who is a good target and for what? I still think Strome would be a good acquisition.

Strome would not be good in Columbus, we have no one to support him.

Good options we already have- Texier, Foudy and Wennberg (even though you’re so down on him)
Trade targets- E.Staal, Domi, Johanson(retained on) , Turris, or Henrique (started watching him more and he’s much better then I though)
Restricted free agent possibilities- Mittelstadt, Patrick or Thompson
Free Agent targets- Haula (he’s really the only one)

I’d look into Haula and some of our own players before making a trade, and at that I’d go for a player like Mittelstadt who has a better potential then someone like Strome.
