I'd rather bring back Tanev than play Edmundson/Hamonic in the top 4.

I don't like the idea of trading Demko. I think we can get by for next year by just moving out Sutter and Baertschi and then waiving Eriksson.

I'm not sure why re-signing Toffoli has become such a priority. We have young wingers who could step in to his spot in the next 1-2 years (Podkolzin, Hoglander, Lind). I don't think we should tie up cap space in something we can replace with an ELC soon.

I really like your signings. In fact on the team I just created I also have the Canucks signing Hamonic & Edmundson.

Why does everyone love Tanev so much? He is 30 years old and this is the first time in the last 3 seasons that he has played over 55 games. He gave us a great season on his last year on his contract. Hamonic & Edmundson have played 60+ games the majority of their pro careers. Edmundson is 26 and Hamonic is 29.

I actually don't mind the Ducks trade, but it'd really depend on how much Stecher is going to get on his next contract.

As much as it seems like the Ducks have some cap flexibility with Kesler on LTIR, it's actually not as rosy as it once was now that Backes is there. Add in the fact that Perry's buyout cap hit jumps to something like $5.5-6ish mil next year, all of the sudden it gets tight.

Think I'd rather just skip the middle man and snag Hamonic for 2 x $4 if that's the cost.

I don't think we have anything in the system that could replace Tanev for the foreseeable future. The closest thing would be Woo, but he probably needs 1-2 years in the AHL and then anywhere from 1-5 years to get to Tanev's level if all goes right. I don't think there's anything on the UFA market either and trading for one would cost a lot.

Tanev has said that he wants to stay. If he doesn't cost too much and the term isn't crazy, I would welcome him back.
