Is MCMICHAEL the best player in the 19 draft

Created by: Capitalfail67
Team: 2020-21 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 3, 2020
Published: Mar. 3, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hughes kappo Dach are having terrible years.(scoresheet mainly) The 3 have a total of 61 points collectively. Doubtful in a redraft that McMichael doesn’t go top 10. Haha Protas might actually have been a 1st rounder

You’re an idiot. I’m over it. You title says one thing then you use points of NHLers to compare to a junior player and now you’ve moved the goal posts again.

I’m the idiot here haha not you. Haha 😂

It's a little early to crow, but I'm glad you're excited for him.

I remember the gasps in the hall when the Columbus Blue Jackets picked Pierre-Luc DuBois instead of the consensus #3 choice, Jesse Puljujarvi . . . which goes to show you that what matters is your NHL career, not the pre-game . . .

You have incited controversy. Dylan Cozens will be the best player taken in the draft, change my mind

Why is this a hot take? Unless Hughes and Kakko take huge steps forward, McMichael is the better player. It wouldn't shock me if he were called up to the NHL this year, he'd be having at least as much success as the other top picks currently playing in the NHL.

There's nothing surprising about this take. He's having an out of this world year in the OHL, and he's been trending up at a steady pace before this. However, it seems this year he has taken a leap beyond what anyone was expecting. Maybe he's just really this good and people were wrong about him? And also wrong about Hughes/Kakko and they were overrated. Some folks in here are acting like this is impossible.

Some people just comment thoughtless things. It would be really hard to think for yourself or to be open minded at all

Stupid takes? You said Gardner was better than Carlson and that Carlson would never has another 50 point season. Also it’s how you transition and both players are looking to be terrible NhL players. Ask yak or pool party 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes I was wrong on that Carlson one hugely. And that was a stupid take by me. Also as for transition. You dont know how McMichael would transition into pro hockey. Kakko, Dach and Hughes are all playing in big leagues and yes, they look terrible so far, but would McMichael look better? Most likely not. Not every prospect is superstar right out of a gate like McDavid, Eichel, Matthews or others. Look at other top notch prospects who looked terrible in their first year like Draisaitl or others. It takes years to fully develop into an NHL player. Thats why most players look like **** if they play right away.

As for McMichael himself, he is clearly a steal at where he was picked. Insanely good player that just keeps getting better. Lets see how he transitions to NHL next season or season after that.

So again this isn’t a stupid take. It’s could be very accurate just premature it completely wrong but based off their terrible NHL numbers you’d assume atm it wouldn’t be hard to surpass their current NHL numbers.

Player A is scoring at a 26p/y nhl pace
Player B is scoring at a 160p/y junior pace.

Who looks more enticing?

Its extremely premature and not accurate. Hughes and Kakko are both better than McMichael. Dach too. They wouldve gotten McMichael numbers in juniors and more easily. But we wouldnt find that out, because they are playing big leagues instead of junior.

as for the question, I would start asking how would that 160p/y player look in pro environment.. also OHL season is 68 games, Which means McMichael is on pace for like 135 points which is still insanely good, but he isnt NHL ready yet and I wonder what he would look like in place of Hughes or Kakko. Their current NHL numbers which you mean basically point totals are not good at all and I expected more and everybody expected more. They would get levels better. Both of them.. but you seriously think McMichael would be better in NHL at the current moment than all of Dach, Kakko and Hughes? Because that isnt accurate at all. Its like saying that Robertson is by far the greatest goalscorer of the draft because he is on pace for 80 goals in OHL if it was full season. He isnt, but he is a steal still!

McMichael isn’t NHL ready? Maybe but based off that kappo Hughes and Dach aren’t NHL ready either. McMichael looked fine in preseason and would have zero issue playing in the capitals 3rd line. I guarantee he would easily match those point totals. But again it’s all hypothetical and if you are being jk eat with yourself you would take the kid thriving in juniors over the kid struggling in the nhl. It can’t be inaccurate it can only be premature atm

And McMichael would have their numbers in the NHL. Their numbers are bad. Kakko 43.6% CF? Awful. McMichael, I'd bet $1, would have above that CF%. It's really bad. Hughes, not much better at 46.2% with 61.1% Ozone starts. Face it, they both suck at the NHL level this year. I'm pretty sure McMichael could come suck on the third line for the Caps less than Hughes and Kakko are sucking higher up in the lineup for their teams.

I don't think anyone in the most recent draft was truly NHL ready.

That’s my major point. I’m taking a lot of heat for comparing everyone one but nobody is putting up more sauce numbers. It would be one thing if any of those guys scored 50 points this year but that’s not the case
