Both Tanev and Lehner will sign elsewhere, likely with contenders, unless you overpay. You are likely underpaying both of them with those contracts and definitely giving them too little term for them to even be interested.

Even if we get the #2 overall pick, I see Yzerman taking Tim Stutzle. Not interested in a 30 year old Chris Tanev the guy has to many health issues. And reportedly Robin Lehner wants close to 7 x 6.5 on his next deal. Doubt Yzerman has any interest in acquiring a long term goalie.

As far as the draft pick goes, i honestly like stutzle’s game better than byfield, but they do have a lot of wingers already and stutzle is a primary winger.
