Description
Description notes:

UFA and NMCs - All these are hypothetical opinions these players could have:
Sheary - Takes a small cut. I'm hoping he loves being in Pittsburgh and wants to stay
Alzner - waives him NMC just to play anywhere in the NHL
Henrique - waives his NMC since at 30, he doesn't want to rebuild in Anaheim

Lines:
First line - Sheary looked great at LW last night
Second line - Zucker and Rust's speed/drive to the net could completely clear the slot on rushes for Geno to well... be Geno!
3rd line - Left over ''skilled'' players
4th line - Shutdown line

I love Henrique and I will never forget The Call against the Rangers but he is not the same player. He definitely lost a little.

Most contracts seem in the ballpark, but DeMelo will get more term/AAV I think - not by a crazy amount, but he will. Maybe a $3m x 3 type of deal

Do you think the deal is an overpay?
I see Alzner as a negative, and all other pieces except for Rodriguez will require a chunk of salary, I've aslo asked for 1M retention on 4 years,
What do you think?

Yup that's fair, I always really liked him but was surprised to hear he only went for a 3rd at the deadline... Any other UFA RHD for 2, 2.5 would work

The deal doesn't seem to make sense for either team. Henrique might perk up on a contender but he's having a down year. The most interesting pieces are DeSmith and Simon and neither really fills Anaheim's needs.

Pens get to consolidate assets into the best player in the deal. Anaheim gets to remove the longest term contract for big cap relief next season, gives them a reliable backup G to replace Miller who might want to go on a run, Bjugstad fills the C void left by Henrique, Simon and Rodriguez are reliable top 12Fs at a good price which allows Anaheim to stop bouncing their young forwards up and down and let them develop in the AHL. Value is hard to gauge though with so many players involved

Henrique is not having a down year at all lol, he leads the ducks in P/60... ik it's the ducks, but still... he's also been one of their better defensive forwards this yr

That's exactly why ANA doesn't do that... they already have tons of forwards, they don't need any more "top 12 F's" they need high end forwards RD and/or picks, this trade doesn't send them any of that
