If the cap does go up drastically I can't wait to see how many overblown contracts are going to be given on July 1st. Some GMs are going to go free for all and you'll see stupid amount of money spent.
I don't enjoy seeing the cap go that high that quickly, we were about to see interesting stuff/trades because of cap issues... All that fun, disappeared.

Even from a fan perspective, it sucks. Its giving GM's a lazy way of making themselves seem like they are doing a good job.

The GM's who thought signing Lucic, Ericksson, Okposo, Ladd etc all thought they were smart at the time and so did their owners......... Now they'll have to make a bunch of new silly signings that will haunt their teams in 3-5 years down the line but the fans are be yet again stuck watching garbage skating around the ice as a result.

Teams like Tampa will get out of their cap hell unscathed while the Canadian teams will overpay and be screwed because of it and the circle of Bettman's wet dream will continue forever.
