Why though?

You're getting rid of Risto, get a good 2C and also a future D-pair for Dahlin.

Win-win-win situation in my opinion.

Olofsson is one of the best rookies in the league. No matter which direction they head in they can't trade him whether it's an entry level contract of a team that goes all in or if they blow it up. He is pretty untouchable at this point.

I don't see how trading Fabbro, Jarnkrok, or Trenin really helps NSH. They are not the problem and they always play hard -- and they are all on very cheap contracts currently (Trenin will sign cheap as an RFA this summer) and Fabbro will probably get 2-3 year bridge deal between $3-4m the following year. The value that these players bring at their respective contracts is extremely valuable for any team. So I would look at other players to trade -- Johansen (which you did), Turris (may be difficult), Bonino, Watson, maybe even Ekholm or Arvidsson depending on the deal.

Fabbro goes to the same niche as Olofsson, being a top level rookie.

Aside from him, Dahlin and Reinhart, there's no one that is interesting from NSH point of view.

Olofsson seems to be a deal breaker. I'm not comfortable with ryjo and his contract atm. Fills one hole and creates another.

Ryjo's contract's a big one, but it's that for a reason. One sub-par season does not a bad contract make.

Trading Johnsson and Dermott is something the Leafs should consider but it should only be for a Dman, or picks that they can flip for a Dman. This does nothing for the Leafs.

Saves them money, but yeah I agree with you.

Dunno what the OP was thinking with this.

Preds would regret trading Fabbro, as they don't have an equivalent young dman in the system. I'd take him out of the Johansen proposal, and downgrade the return from BUF (something like Johansen for Miller or Montour + Middlestadt or Asplund, with picks to even things out).

Dermott and Johnsson aren't game changers, and they come with not-insignificant salaries. Jarnkrok is decent, versatile & cheap. Trenin has more to show, and NJ's 2nd in a deep draft could turn out to be the most valuable piece. I think both teams pass on this one.

Please make me an offer for Reinhart.
