You'd probably have to pay Krug like 8-9 million to go to Detroit

I just wonder how much $$$$ money is going to be available for aging UFAs. RFAs are getting a bigger slice of pie. Wings can probably offer the most. Just might not be many teams able to get into serious bidding for Krug or many premium UFAs.

He has said he wants to stay in Boston and he is willing to work with Boston on his contract

If he does leave Boston Detroit is definitely on his short list. He's from Livonia which is about 10min from LCA and he went Michigan State about an hour from downtown Detroit.

But I don't see him leaving Boston

Krug staying in Boston for his career contract, could see him coming back home to Detroit in 5-6 years after he's (probably) won a cup in Boston and once the Wings are a far better team

Ya I get he is from Michigan I just don't see him leaving Boston anyway but if he did I just think he would try to go to a team closer to contending

As I said twice I don't see him leaving Boston. If he did I still think Detroit is at the top of the list because his Wife who he meet at Michigan State is also from the Detroit area. They did just have their 1st child and having family close it makes things a lot easier. The only scenario that I see Krug leaving Boston is they win the cup and management wants to go younger. Even with a team friendly contract it's still going to be about $6.5M to $7M. With cup under his belt Detroit is the most likely landing spot.
