Not interested in Jeff Carter. He's done.

And why target Subban? The Oilers don't exactly need more defensemen.

I am so done with the dzone gong show due to Nurse, Larsson, Russell fumbling with the puck or their crappy passes that are iced. This is not just them, but we've seen it for a decade plus, it is so often so bad.

2 years of Subban for 4 yrs of Neal, I think it is a good trade off. Subban is a legit PP QB, haven't seen one in E-Town in some time & with a better team, he will be a good fit and he would serve as a placeholder for Bouch for at least a year. Then he covers the loss of Larsson in year 2 when I would expect Bouchard to be the 3RD. When PK is done, Berglund or Kemp should be ready for 3RD.

Carter has had a great season, he is far from done. Yup he is old, but he has 17 goals in 60 games, a 9% shooting percentage, he averages 3 shots per game, wins face-offs, is a big-body and will actually provide cover at the 3rd C slot, which Sheahan has often struggled with. He actually still has some tread left.

I also think he would be the perfect Centre between Jesse and AA.

Bouchard is ready now, you'd make him wait another 18 months? Kemp and Berglund might be ready next fall, although I wouldn't depend on it.

Bouchard might seem ready, but I wouldn't count on it just yet. We'll see what happen next season, but I'd rather have Bouch in the Bake as an easy, no-waiver call up and give him few tastes so he is ready for sure in 21-22. Besides, that would likely be the Holland blueprint.

I don't know. Holland brought him up already for his "taste", if you look at the pattern (Lagesson, Benson) he brings then up to practice, hang around the guys, collect an NHL paycheck for a week, sit in the press box, etc. Then they go back to AHL to await the next injury opportunity to occur... based on this, I think Bouchard will be in Edmonton again this year if there's another injury.
