So with all of Leafnation praying for that 6.5M handout, the best ya'll couldve gotten was adding in Damon Severson?
That's with subtracting Liljegren and Barrie. Ouch!

That speaks volumes to how bad the cap's been managed out there.

The cap is poorly managed with this ACGM post, no way in hell Mikheyev gets 2.8mil, and Johnsson would likely be included in a trade for a RHD. Either way Dubas knows what he's doing and thankfully he is the GM rather than many of the Leafs ACGMs

Realistically they’ll probably move our Johnsson. But I didn’t want to in this armchair

No way in hell Mikayev gets 2.8? Are u kidding me. Johnsson last year: 43 points in 73 games. 20 goals.
      Signed a 4 year 3.4 million deal
Kappanen: 44 points in 78 games. 20 goals. Signed a 3 year 3.2 million contract.
Mikayev this year: 23 points in 39 games. On pace for 48 points in a full year.

He’s putting up similar numbers to what those guys did. I made the contract a little less because of Injury, but he’s gonna be around 2.5 million forsure. Just look at his comparables

Dermott plays both sides (good skill to have for injuries. If you trade lily for Severson, keep Dermott and play him at 3 Rd. Forget heed

oilers fans shouldn't be speaking about bad cap management when they have 3 players bought out and another 2 buried

You can't compare someone who has played for half a season to others who have been there for multiple years and give him a contract based off of them. The sample size is too small. I do like him, but I can see him signing a one or two year deal at around 1.5 and have a chance to prover himself and earn a bigger pay after that.

I think with his leverage he signs one year, as he won't want to be locked in low, otherwise he'd return to the KHL for more money. My guess is high 1's for 1 year
