I like hickey, He was a serviceable 3rd pairing D man - but Leddy-hickey was a disaster in the playoffs last season. Hickey can’t play his off side. This is dobson opportunity to step up playing on his strong side for the first time this season

Totally agree, it’s about time Dobson got a look on his good side. If he and Leddy get bottom pair minutes we should be okay

I’d argue Dobson is a significant upgrade over boychuk, especially on his strong side. You never want to see someone get injured, it was tough to watch, but it was time to get Dobson in there anyways. When 2-55 are on the ice, you’re just hoping they survive the shift because they are always stuck in the Dzone. Leddy has horrible hockey IQ and raw talent and boychuk has a high IQ but he’s not an NHL caliber hockey player. For what it’s worth, Dobson and Leddy have been a strong pairing in the 33 minutes they’ve been on the ice together. Small sample size, but it’s encouraging
