Anze is 32 years old and makes 10 million for 4 more years when he will only decline significantly. Marner is significantly younger and signed through prime scoring years.

well, no, he's elite at passing. Like top of the league elite type stuff. He's also an incredible stick handler and an above average goal scorer a very good skater. He's also 10 years younger than Kopitar and will improve during his contract.
Now, that isn't to say he's untouchable, you just dont trade skill like that for old guys who are rapidly declining .
