Description
Acquire aging forwards through trades and free agency to buy time for the prospects to develop together in the farm, and eventually bring them up slowly in a 2-3 yr time frame.

The defence is farely young and competent to give the team a chance to win game in game out. Not sure what to do with Dumba and Chiarot when they're approaching free agency in a couple of years. It will all depend eventually on the progress of the D prospects. Even if Brodin does resign, I would be open to trade offers if again the prospects are developing adequately. Same approach will apply with Matheson.

If the starting D core is geling and the collective cap hit isn't anchoring the team long term, I'd be open to trading the prospects.

Yup low juice. But Bergevin's controller was dead, he's too lazy and cheap to get new ones. So I had no choice but to shove him to the side and do my thing hehe

You are giving two top6 foward for two top4 Dman, already here value isnt fair but lets say it is. Armia has more value than Kunin but lets say it even out the first part of the Trade. It means you have no assets left in your proposition to ask for probably the best player outside of the NHL right now. So yeah, you need to add and MIN wants to rebuild so picks or/and maybe Romanov since they loose 2 great Dman.

So 3 prospects who are unsigned and are UFAs on June 1st gets you Josh Anderson now... then you sign him to a 7 year 6.0 contract.... so you’re giving up nothing to get a 1st line RW... Columbus would rather take the compensation from an offersheet for Anderson, then they might get to use the players acquired for him.

The compensation for this contract are your 2021 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Have no idea what CBJ situation is regarding contracts. Certain MTL insiders say the Habs better sign them 3 and let other prospects walk cause they're better. MTL has had alot of draft picks the last few years and when you accumulate too many prospects you end up in this current situation. You should read up on them in depth cause they might actually be more valuable to you than draft picks.

They aren’t more valuable then draft picks... you should read the rules... if a player isn’t signed in 3 years then then become a UFA and go back into the draft... so you trade players rights who could just sign else where on June 1st. The draft is after that date and the next chance to trade is the draft. So your trade 3 players who could say piss off and sign anywhere they want? How is that more valuable then draft picks?

I disagree. Just comparing the 6 actual NHL players involved in this trade , MTL's 3 have more value. All 3 players individually more value than Brodin and Kunin individually. As for Dumba his value is higher than Armia's, equivalent to Drouin's cause they're both top 10 draft choices that haven't fully reached expectations and similar contracts, and bellow Domi's value mainly cause Domi a RFA and we've seen what he's capable of when he control's his emotions. Also he had a breakout year playing with Drouin.

Even if mtl's have an edge (wich I disagree but its pretty close) the difference does not get you Kaprizov

Even if mtl's 3 have an edge ( wich I disagree because defensman are more valuable, but Ill give it to you value is pretty close) the difference does not get you Kaprizov. Panarin at 22 had 40 pts in the khl (20g,20a in 51 games) while Kaprizov have 62pts (33g, 29a in 57 games). Im not even comparing them but its to illustrate what kind of talent this kid have and both had/have strong teammates too. So even if he never played an NHL game, you have to pay for this kind of potentiel. One of the habs best prospect would have to be include in that deal. And Im a habs fan by the way couldnt care less about MIN.

I can deal with giving up that. But not the "alot more". It would be between Romanov/Harris/Strubel. Or make the VAN trade before and offer Juolevi.
