This is a big fat no, strome is so overrated this season, he sucks and I wouldn't trade a 7th round pick in 2075 for him let alone a 2nd and take back Brendan Smith and his ****ty contract. We can do better and find a better player. Yzerman wants to build through the draft so getting a mid 20s player who stinks for a 2nd is not the route he is going to go

Why are you trading away picks when Yzerman is committed to building through the draft and internally...

Strome averages 33 points a season with Panarin he could hit 70 this season. I think it would be dumb for NYR to trade him because he fits well with Panarin you have a #2c or a #3c putting up #1c points. I just don't see the NYR moving him maybe next season but if he is traded 30-35 points season is what you should expect not 60-70. Detroit isn't going to bring Smith back.

Having 3 2nd rounds is a perfect spot to get a guy who can help now and still be young enough to grow with the team. Just because you have them you don't just have to draft 6 guys in 3 rounds. You hate Strome fine go get someone else if you can find someone who fits. If they do get laf that #2 center needs to be better than filp.

It's a super late 2nd rounder, their 3rd of that round and they have 2 early 3rd. I'd be shocked if he uses all those picks.

I don't have any delusions he's gonna put up 70 pts here. He did have a 50 pt season on long island so it's not out of no where. Plus he's a pass first Center for mantha or laf. If we get the 2nd pick and get Byfield I'd never make the trade. He's an upgrade for a super late second rounder and a bad contract.
