Wiebe and Ates inspired

Description
Listening to the "Boarding Pass" the other day and Ken Wiebe and Murat Ates talked about a few UFA signings the jets should look at, as well as what to pay Roslovic. I've taken what they said and beefed it up with some trades.
Re-signing Demelo and signing Dillon were thoughts they had on the pod and they make a lot of sense as a way to insolate Samberg and Heinola.
I traded away Lowry because I think Copp's play this season has made him expendable, plus they get a good back up on term.
Not sure of the value for Stastny. This was one of those AGM inspired trades. Jets probably need to add, but Niku was a good start.

Are we sure bringing Stastny back is the solution?
His numbers are down and his AAV is quite high for what he's producing, he'd still be a better option then Eakin or Copp at 2C though.

Heard the Jets were close to signing Stastny but the Knights would go 3 years and the Jets were only willing to do 2 years, not sure if that's true but that's what I heard.

To quote Paul Maurice he's "coach porn." He started playing with Morrissey and in that time they've looked good. He moves the puck quick and looks like he's got a good hockey mind. I hope the chemistry continues to grow and he reups with the jets

I think it was more about money than term, but I cant remember exactly. Regardless he was serious about returning to the jets. Stastny has definitely dropped off a bit, but is still productive. He would be the clear cut #2 C in the peg and would play either top PP or second unit, plus he would be with Laine and Ehlers, two guys that desperately need a consistent C.

I know that the DeSmith/Lowry trade has been popular on CF but I don't see the return being rationale for the Jets. For $1,250,000, they could resign Brossoit. DeSmith is 28 yo and his 2.86 GAA and .906 SV% against AHL shooters doesn't suggest an improvement over Brossoit. Surely Lowry could get the Jets a serviceable roster player, a quality prospect or a good draft pick. All of which would benefit the team more than a guy who may play 12 games a year behind Helly.

I hear what you're saying, as he's obviously a bit older and won't be able to produce for a whole lot longer at a high level. But, the chemistry he had in the Jets locker room was undeniable. $6.5 for one year isn't out of the question for the Jets (especially if Little's injury is real serious, hopefully it's not) based on their current cap situation. After next year, Stastny could even re-sign with the Jets on a lower AAV if that was something both sides wanted. In addition, based on the cap situation that the VGK are in, they'd probably like some young, cheap options to play rather than Stastny (plus, VGK needs help on the blueline more than anything).

I like it. It gives the jets the ability to stay competitive (hopefully) before the Seattle expansion draft, where everything could change. Plus, if Stastny really is worse than he was with WPG two years ago, not a lot of harm done as he's a UFA.

I liked Stasny when he was here but not sure I want him now. He’s not the answer to our issues and while he wouldn’t be a terrible addition, he would be more of a cap dump favour for Vegas.
I don’t want any more assets spent unless it’s on a long term solution at 2C or RHD.

I agree with this, we already did Vegas a cap dump favor by trading for Eakin.. Lol

Chevy really hasn't been doing a good job with his trades in the last few years.

You're probably right. Lowry gets crapped on in the peg so maybe that's me undervaluing him based on that. If he lands futures or a decent dman then the jets should do that. I like Broissoit too
