If Alex Pietrangelo hits the open market, I can easily see him getting around 7 x 9.5 or 7 x 10. He'd stay in St Louis for that lowball offer.

Philly would love to have pietrangelo. But with Niskanen and Myers as RH dmen, not sure it is a real need, (upgrade sure, but need?)

certainly JVR and Ghost are the trade commodities this offseason, but not sure ARZ is the trade partner and that Keumper is what we want, a 4.5mil backup goalie when Hart has to be re-signed after next year? Elliot or another vet backup will come for 2mil or so.

And not sure is Hayton is better than Frost, Ratcliffe, Bunnamon, Farabee, etc....

That's true, but with Nisky off the cap the following year entering his age 34 year, it would be nice to have a contingency plan ready for that and move him up with Provy.

Kuemper I think is a more reliable backup option, and yes there will be an overlapping year for Hart's extension and Kuemper's last year, but with only two years remaining, I figure it is ample time to see what we have with Ustimenko, Ersson, Sandstrom, Feditov, et al.

I wouldn't say Hayton is better, but perhaps someone else we can stock the cupboard with on an ELC, not sure if they'd be willing to part with him, but they have the space and a puck moving defensemen could be just what they need to be honest, at a reasonable cap hit no less.

Just my thoughts, but this team is a wagon as constructed here.

I really don't think that Arizona does that trade. Hayton is probably their best prospect I can't see them trading him and a guy who if he was healthy for the entire season would be in the Vezina conversation for an aging forward and a dman who isn't the player he was a few seasons ago. Maybe JVR does put up 30 goals again and maybe Ghost has another 70 point season but those are two huge ifs
