Domi for ghost and Ratcliffe makes a ton of sense. Ratcliffe and Suzuki have chemistry together and Philly is loaded on prospects. Philly seems to have Ghost on the trade block and I feel like hed be great with Weber. so I could see that a s a great deal

He's a capdump otherwise no chance Domi brings you an A-Prospect D+1 and a mid 1st 2020.

Perreault cuz he is a frenchie plus he is better than any of your 4th liners. If the cap goes past 86M, he isnt a cap dump.

Whatever the cap ends up being, a fourth line center isn't supposed to be paid over 4M$. He's a cap dump.

A cap dump is when you have to dump a player to get within the cap....Yes, he is overpaid but he won't be a cap dump

Ok I see your POV. You could pay him BUT he still holds no value in the trade (Or negative).

Let's just say he has negative value due to his contract.

To me, the value is there but that's not what Bergevin wants. If he misses the playoffs again, he's probably gone. Maybe he can get an other year (he would fire Julien like he's the one to blame) if he can sell a plan to Molson (like a "real" plan, and not some fifty-fifty now/future)

In short, if there's a trade this summer, it's to make the playoffs. This trade would announce a plan that isnt on Bergevin's mind for now

His plan was a 3 year retool, we're at year 2 now so I'm guessing this summer could be the last one where he stacks assets. On top if you free up money that Domi would take to go get a top UFA that evens everything up but gives you a 1st and top LD prospect as a bonus.
If they're not convinced he's a core player then you're better to let him go and go get Hoffman, Toffoli or Granlund. As you've said he most likely have one more year cause he'll fire Julien and then the team should be stacked by then (If prospects develop)*.

I like that, but maybe we can sub Domi with Drouin, Drouin and Domi have similar value, but won't have similar results

@MaxDomi13 @ThatGuy @ColonelX @Jetman

Just easier to @ all of you.

Perrault is simply there because:

- Teams rarely ever make trades for high priced players without some cap coming out.
- The french factor looks good on MB and the franco fan base.
- Losing Domi means needing a live body that has experience to at least help replace his time on the roster.
- Habs have oodles of cap space so adding 4M Perreault for one single year is not a big deal.
- If he plays well but habs don't make the playoffs, they get another player to flip at the TDL for a pick. (See Scandella)
- Plays all forward positions. Habs could always use depth. Or is playing Weise acceptable to you?
- Also if I trade Domi i want him out of conference and WPG makes a lot of sense for them and us.

I don't like Perreault. I don't want Perreault. The only reason he is here is that he checks all the boxes of the Habs.

@Csick
I prefer this trade to Philly for Ghost and Ratcliffe becuase Domi on the Flyers is going to haunt the Habs for a long time and Habs need to build for the future. Adding Ghost means they want to try and be good now which I DONT want them to think. IMO.

@pinslack
I don't want to do what MB wants because that means failing lol so Im giving my interpretation of what would happen if I could whisper in his ear my advice. awesome face

@IVTEJ09
I agree, If the goal is try and get Ghost, I would prefer to trade Drouin. That is a better comparable. Domi should bring back a much better package than Ghost IMO.

I could see Perreault becoming (maybe to a lesser extent) a version of Tatar. A change of scenery with a different role can really help players find their game.

And like you say, a 1-year commitment is a none issue. Very low risk. Worst case, you get rid of him before the 2021/22 season

@F50marco still if we're taking perreault we should immediately flip him for a pick (Just easier to @ you instead of mentioning everyone in a quote)

A very very lesser version of Tatar.....maybe. Perreault is much older than Tatar was and hasn't been as prominent at scoring. I wouldn't compare him to Tatar actually. But being that he is from Quebec, only has one year left and the Jets probably would expect some cash coming out if they are taking Domi's in, its a small price to pay for a player whose not a cap dump style player but isn't exactly a hot commodity either.

By all means I'd prefer to move him. It might be hard to do so unless we retain 50% though. Hopefully he can have a little Renaissance season with MTL to boost his value so that a team is willing to take him on.
