Take far more then Nurse+Benson to get a 90 point winger signed to a sweetheart deal for another 3 years, That's for sure. Not even close to getting you Jonathan Huberdeau.

I don't think Florida would trade him but if so, what would be a fair deal? It has to be a 1st, great roster player and a top prospect ++ for sure.

A lot of this trade, rides on Dale Tallon not realizing what he has on his roster. Wouldn’t be the first time but yeah I get what your saying

Only problem is that he’s knows exactly what he has in Huberdeau

If the Oilers were to trade with Florida why then must it be Huberdeau. The gem here should be Ekblad. The Oilers have enough offence. To be an elite team, they need a stud on defense. I am fully aware about Nurse. I am not convince he is an elite defenseman. Good defenseman yes. A game changer no.

I agree Nurse isn't an elite defenseman... but Ekblad somehow is? That doesn't make any sense. And anyhow, Edmonton has a stud RHD coming: Evan Bouchard. They need more top-6 forwards.

FYI, Nurse is a top-10 defenseman at 5v5 scoring:

He might be top ten in scoring but, you can’t honestly tell me Nurse has a solid offensive head for the game. Way too often his passes turn to icings and if he does have the puck in the offensive zone he looks a little lost as to how to make a play

I already said he isn't elite, but his offensive issues are way overblown IMO. The results bear that out. He's getting elite results.

He’s getting elite results by playing with elite players, Kris Russel can get an apple every couple of games if he’s always on the ice with McDavid

Ok, that's just silly. Nurse gets two-and-a-half times the number of points as Russell does when with McDavid, and over 4 times when with Draisaitl. He plays the toughest comp, Russell plays mainly 3rd pairing. Comparing the two in any capacity is silly.
