madden isn't as good as he has been expressed to be in the last while. just kempe the 2nd. don't think he would immediately jump to 1st line on such a stacked AHL team.

Not sure who else would get the spot over him. Vilardi is staying put in the NHL, and Turcotte is likely playing another season in the NCAA. Kupari is likely moving to RW due to the huge influx of center talent coming in. That leaves JAD, Akil Thomas, or Aidan Dudas as the 1C. Madden is a year older than both of those kids, and JAD isn't projected to be a top six forward. My guess is that unless Turcotte makes the jump or they decide not to move Kupari to the wing, Madden is in at 1C.

I don’t think Turcotte or Madden should turn pro next year. And if they do I think they definitely play in the Ahl.i watched Turcotte a couple times this year and by no means did he look like a superior player to the other guys in the game. I notified caufield every shift, turcotte didn’t stand out in the games I saw. Madden is tiny. Like 36 pounds lighter then Turcotte and the same height. I think he would get tossed around at the pro level. He definitely needs to put on some muscle.

I'm particularly hopeful for Cole Hults. I think we'll see him in the NHL.

I figured with the logjam at rookie LHD and Blake's statements from last week that they're looking to add a veteran guy on that side this summer, I would think they'd opt to keep him in the NCAA for one more year until a couple free agents move on and guys like Clague, Anderson, and Bjornfot move to the NHL full time.
