You can trade away player rights by clicking trade then switching from acquire players to trade away player rights.

Eichel would cost you Dubois and jones and I bet you would still have to add. Eichel is Matthews good but for an actual reasonable price tag and with more term

I disagree. DuBois is a legit 1C granted he isn’t elite, but Jones is an elite 1D and both are young. I wouldn’t do that trade if I were Columbus.

Yeah I don’t blame you but if you want a top 5 center you’ll have to overpay. Dubois Is amazing but he isn’t Eichel. It’s just easier to say Eichel isn’t available for a reasonable price

      Matthews is better than Eichel

He's a year younger so a year further from his Prime

Matthews 0.56 gpg and 1.01 ppg
      Eichel 0.39 gpg 0.95 ppg

Matthews has been either the best or second best goal scorer since entering the league (Ovi).

But you are certainly right about the contracts. Rich Maks about 1.7 mil less and is signed 2 years longer.

Maybe... I mean ovechkin is definitely #1 but Matthews is 2nd I guess. Other guys are getting on hot streaks. Matthews blow defensively tho. Nhl isn’t all about goals I’d say Eichel is better given his current team vs Matthews

Eichel being a top 5c is kinda a hot take

Crosby mcdavid Leon (he kinda bounces between Center and wing A lot tho) couturier/ barkov (including defensive centers) then even tho I’m not a matthews fan we have to count him and then Malkin, Mackinnon just saying I think he’s top 10 but top 5 is easily argued against

Leo I always forget he’s a center bc he played wing w McDavid. I guess i glorified him but him and Matthews would be top 10ish but one spot apart

If the Jackets traded Jones for Eichel straight up right now, Buffalo would take it and run. People on here always over value their players. Logistically, this would be a very solid offer. Again not saying they would accept but it is actually pretty close.

No they wouldn’t. Eichel value is much much higher than Jones. Teams can win without true #1 RHD but teams can’t win without a true #1 center. Buffalo could easily sign Piet and he would fill every need Jones would. Now name an Eichel type talent available?

Think what you want. But Defenseman, especially Eilte defenseman are more valuable. Forwards generally top out at 20 minutes a game. Jones averages almost 25 min a game. He play 5v5 PP and PK. He also drives the play from the backend. Guys like him you can count on one hand.

Djoo literally went from the AHL to the NHL and did exactly what you described ha. Either way nobody is dumb enough to trade Eichel 1 for 1 for Jones.
