If Yotes don’t make playoffs they have zero chance of re-signing Hall and he is sure as hell going to get more than $9.5M AAV.

Yeah...well his MVP season looks like the outlier season in his career. I don't know if I would be eager to pay a even 9.5 million because of one MVP season.

He's a good player but not 9.5 million good imo.

I don’t disagree with you. He is however a PPG play driving former Hart winner who is 28. I think it is a fair criticism as well that he has played on marginal teams that haven’t been able to get to the playoffs and he has to shoulder some of that responsibility.

He's probably better off signing a 1-2 year deal and playing behind a Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, Scheifele. Just somewhere he won't have to be the top banana and win.

He will definitely get more money with this kind of approach.

That’s funny you mention that, they were talking about exactly that on an Avs podcast I was listening to. Avs give him a 2 yr 12M deal and do exactly that.

Too much money imo. Look I get the fascination of getting a former MVP but...and especially if it's going to be a 1-2 year deal, anything over 8 million is ridiculous just because you know he will cash in big time on the next contract.

The Coyotes' 2020 first-rounder is top-3 protected, so the joke is that Taylor Hall will get his team yet another 1OA.

If Hall resigns with Arizona, don't they lose their 2021 1st rounder as a condition on the trade with the Devils?

Arizona gave up a lot for mediocrity. My question is if Hall doesn’t help get the Coyotes into the post season, why then the rush to sign him?
As an athlete entering free agency, you want to have a memorable year and elevate your value. It is not happening here.
