BUF would need to add quite a bit more to that CHI trade.

Would ya take Montour for Strome 1-on-1?

Isles pass on that. Okie has a higher cap hit than Ladd. No need for Hutton. Trade boils down to a 2nd round pick. Could do better

Okposo is also much better player than Ladd. That evens out the 2nd rounder. Figured that if Greiss doesn't re-sign with NYI and Sorokin decides to stay in KHL for a year, Hutton could be a decent 2G.

Oo the strome brothers would be deadly. I'm game. Rather trade Johnson than Samuelsson, even though Johnson supposedly has more value

Sorokin is coming to the NHL one way or another IMO. 99% per Igor Eronko. If it's with another team that means Isles got significant assets. And Okposo has 19 points. I'm not saying Ladd is good, but if he was here the entire season he would be around that total too. Just doesn't make sense from NYI's perspective to make this deal. Moving Leddy makes this even worse.

If you want to move bad contracts. Ladd for Okie with 500k retained. Zero cap change to either team and expires at the same time. Both guys have lengthy injury history and realistically would prob produce similar numbers if both played an entire season

I personally rate Okposo higher than Ladd. I can see Okposo being half-decent 3rd line RW, but I can't see Ladd in virtually any team's lineup. He's AHL level at the moment. Imo in a swap of those two, NYI would have to be the one to add. But that's only my opinion.

Yeah Sorokin is likely the option. This is just an "if he doesn't come" option.

I can see BUF adding something to the move if necessary. But likely this wouldn't be happening, though.

The answer would be no based on need not necessarily value. Montour is a RHD, we have a logjam of those (Boqvist, Murphy, Mitchell, Seabrook) and then on the left side we have Keith, De Haan, Maatta, Carlsson, Koekko. In other words, unless it's a top line LHD, we don't need more defensive players. We do need young top 9 wingers or bottom 6 centers.
