Description
Habs use their cap space, and draft pick depth and move Domi + Mete for Lindell + Gurianov +Cogliano. MTL gets their need in a top pairing LHD in Lindell. Dallas will need to eventually sign Heiskenan, and Mete will offer a similar, cheaper (but less fancy) option than Lindell as a top 4LHD. Dallas also gets more consistent offence in Domi, than Gurianov (who finally had a breakout season). I figured the value of Lindell must be extremley high, so took in Cogliano's contract for the year and sent some picks (which Dallas does not have a lot of). In hindsight, MTL gets the guy they need and want to improve their top 4 but gives up one of their better forwards, Dallas adds a legit top 6 forward threat, reliable, positional replacement for Lindell, and draft picks.

San Jose gives up a valuable piece in Hertl (but I doubt they'll be able to keep him in 2 years and/or be a contender for those years). They sell high and add Kotkaniemi- future top 6 centre, and Lehkonnen- decent secondary piece + picks. Hertl steps into MTL and becomes their immediate 1st line centre, adding to Danault and Suzuki, Trading Kotkaniemi may be tough, but he's a couple years away and believe MTL should open their window now with Weber and Price just getting older.

Habs get fleeced in the first trade. I don’t think SJS make the second trade though.

I don’t think so Lindell is very solid and Gurianov has 20 goals this year. Maybe just remove the 1st from Montreal and it’s pretty fair

SJS is a hard no. Your not getting Hertl, along with Meier as their most likely untouchables, not giving up 1st pick. Kotkaniemi, let’s be honest was over drafted and might not be a center, but if I were MTL I wouldn’t pull the chord on him just yet.

the worst move that habs could make right now is to stray away from the plan they have. go ask the oilers and sabers what happens when you jum the gun to quickly.

This is bad for the Habs. Lindell is a nice piece but the picks are unnecessary, especially giving up a 2021 1st that could be a lottery pick if things dont go right again.

I also like Hertle but he has to have another consistent season over 70 points to be worth KK. Very good player but he broke out last year, spent most of this season hurt and I'm not completely sold he is a true #1 center since he has spent most of his career being supported by Couture, Thornton and Pavelski. Rather take my chances with the 19 year old with as much potential as KK has.
