Don't agree with that. Mid to high 10s at best on 8. He's not $500k below McDavid. Nor is he as good as Matthews or Rantanen. Only way he pushes toward 12 is if the cap winds up being on the high end estimate of 88.2

but cap will hit 88 over the next 8 years. when mcdavid signed at 12.5 the cap was 75M, so if cap is 86M next year mcdavids cap would be comparable to 14.5M, so 12M over 8 years isnt out of the realm for barzal.

We have to add a higher pick to unload Cizikas? Do you even watch hockey? Casey is a very good 3rd/4th line center- one of the best in the game and he is paramount (see recent slide without him) for the Islanders. He is netting a 3rd round pick MINIMUM if you are trading him, which we aren't anyway...but that proposal is laughable, especially on an expiring contract....

I love how u feel like that was the whole point of this. I didn’t care if they traded kommy or Casey just showing number for the cap... that’s why I left the boychuck one open

You SHOULD care if they trade Cizikas. Best thing to do is unload Komarov after we pay his July bonus...then a team like Detroit will take him on with a draft pick. Bellows is not playing center in the NHL, he is destined for a wing spot should he even make it long term....and any trade of Boychuk (who has an 8-team list BTW, almost all of them certainly to be close to NY since he just built a house) will have to be money retained. No one wants a 6 million per 3rd unit blue liner
