Is it already draft day question mark

Description
Bergevin summer's going to be busy. I think I've made it realistic enough, let me know.

Draft table:
Early in the draft Marc calls his good friends from Chicago to get a deal done. Chicago have their eyes on Askarov for a bit and they know Buffalo isn't going that direction so they trade down with MTL in exchange for the 9th OA and 40th OA. Montreal selects from the Erie Otters, defenseman Jamie Drysdale.

Thanks to the Domi trade Montreal's back on the clock at the 14th OA spot. Montreal selects from the Ottawa 67's, winger Jack Quinn. An hybrid between Debrincat and Gallagher? Plays bigger than he is but has better offensive repertoire than Gally, isn't afraid of anyone and will go in the dirty areas without being asked. One of the older players in the draft but still one of the only bright spots on that depleted USDP team after last year's draft. (Could go any ways at this selection as maybe a top guy falls but Quinn could make sense in Montreal as a secondary scoring winger)

At the 38th selection Montreal is proud to select from the USHL/USDP, center Thomas Bordeleau. Great overall player that'll most likely end up on the wing at the next level but high IQ, good shot, good passing, etc.

Now at the 61st spot Montreal is proud to select from Karpat Oulu, defenseman Topi Niemelä. A 17 year old RD already playing against mens? I'll take that steal in the late 2nd.

Trades
1.
MTL
  1. 2021 4th round pick (LAK)
LAK
  1. Lindgren, Charlie
Additional Details:
I'd like to keep Lindgren but if they want to go with an experienced backup well there's one too many goalie.
2.
MTL
  1. Heinola, Ville
  2. Perreault, Mathieu
  3. 2020 1st round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Year 3 of the retool. Getting an high end talent in Heinola and scoring a 1st rounder for a draft at home is and offer Marc can't refuse, with the emergence of Suzuki he's in a position to trade away assets. Original WIN offer was a 2021 1st but Bergy flexes a mid round pick to make it a 2020.

*Trade on draft floor
Picks are; 14 OA and 90th OA
WPG
  1. Domi, Max [RFA Rights]
  2. 2020 3rd round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
Winnipeg gets their long term 2C to solidify the top 6 right now. Winnipeg sends Perreault to clear some cap and MTL is happy to get a hometown boy with experience.

I'd like to keep Domi but if this kind of offer passes by it's a deal I can't pass on.

Chicago has Lankinen. I doubt they are looking at Askarov

I like this, well done.
I think I'd rather stay put and take Perfetti/Rossi/Lundell.
Will be very interesting to see thos top 10 take shape.

That was fun to read. I don't think anyone can tell if it's realistic, but it was well thought out enough to enjoy smile

Lines wise, I wouldn't scratch Byron at all. Since his return from injury, he's shown exactly why he's valuable to the team and has that "A" on his patch. At the very minimum, you need him on PK. Also, Toffoli probably can be more impactful on the 2nd line than Armia. Here's what I'd propose as alternate lines:

Tatar - Danault - Gallagher
Drouin - Suzuki - Toffoli
Kovalchuck - Kotkaniemi - Byron
Lehkonen - Perreault - Armia
Clifford
Weal
(Evans in AHL, he's the first call-up on the list, or if Perreault falters, he's the replacement)

Keep defense the same.

Obviously I assumed KK is back in shape and more than just a 30pt guy. His camp will tell his story. Still think he could be a better 3C than Perreault.

As a Jets fan this is the exact trade I'm calling for, Domi would need to be coming with a long term extension or Chevy would have to know he'd sign one though to make the deal but other than that this is what Chevy needs to be trying to make happen this summer.
Ehlers-Domi-Laine would be a great line!

Might try to grind one of those 2nds out of Bergevin instead of a 3rd, maybe throw in another later pick or B-prospect for a 2nd but whatever, wouldn't be a deal breaker.

Perreault hasn't played center for years btw, is pretty much just a LW now.
