The real question is why would Montreal do that

Bad for both teams, Doubt Vancouver can afford both Price and Weber. And that's a meh return for both anyways.

Pretty sure its bad for both teams. Vancouver's only goalie problem is loosing one of them to Seattle so they certainly don't need price. They also have to pay Hughes and Pettersson soon so taking on monster contracts with lots of term makes no sense.
On the other hand Weber is still very good and Price is still a solid goalie so trading them for cap dumps and 1 prospect seems bad.

This would be funny to see just because of the riots that would eventually erupt in both cities

Ya you're right it is just an awful trade all around like the Habs taking cap dumps for franchise players and the Canucks taking two massive contracts it is just really bad

bring the boys home and win a cup. markstrom wants big raise tanev is leaving so weber replaces him. so they get upgrades in net and defense and both are signed avoiding any contract negoitations. plus they dump 3 cap dump useless players and one borderline bust prospect for two all stars.

Now repeat this and make a case on why Montreal would do this.

Where's the upgrade in net? When did Tanev say he was leaving? How are they paying for Pettersson and Hughes in 2 years? How are they paying for Boeser in 3? So many flaws here

pretty sure there is only 2 million difference in cap wont make or break the contracts for hughs or petey. will actually bring more stability to vancouver's cap and contarct situation in the long run

Probably not but would be a bold move. sign a ufa goalie to fill in until primeau is ready and trade for a or sign ufa RD. Fortune favors the brave.

Montreal can have real assets for Weber. Probable not full value for Price due to his contract, but in any case, they can have better than dumps and a bust.

Yes it will make a difference, that 2M also has 6 years attached to it. Sutter's contract ends in 2 years. Oh, would you look at that! that's the exact same time Hughes and Pettersson need extensions. so that's actually a difference of 6M. Now we can look at the next year when Boeser needs a raise, guess who's contract ends then? Yep you guessed it Loui Eriksson. Damn wouldn't it suck to need 12M in cap space to extend your young superstars and not have it?

Tanev isnt getting resigned he doesn't fit age of core he will sign in Toronto Book it. every player in the league choose price as the best goalie in the league so unless there is someone on here that knows more the the nhl players ill listen if not well go with price as the best like all the players voted on. cap hits are the same after we take your dumps plus the markstrom and tavev contacts are gone thats where you sign the others boys. its really not that complicated go look at their cap situation who is coming off the books subtract the cap dumps and add weber and prices calculate the in crease to the cap and there you have it.

habs do get robbed, this is a no brainer for anybody that is a vancouver fan. most of hughes money will be edlers 6 million the expiry at the same time boeser is already signed the only contract they are going to need to sign is petersson.

Damn if Price is so good why isn't he in the Vezina running every year? What has it been 5 years now since he won it? Also who are my boys? I'm a Flames fan, I'm just not homer enough to think that every team in the league wants price over their current goalie. Markstrom is likely in the Vezina discussion this year as well

he isnt in the running because the habs suck lol. just saying if you know better then the nhl players yourself hats off to you bud. they voted him the best lots of goalies win the vezina have the time because the have a amazing team in front of them winning vezinas doesnt really mean anything and there is three goalies in that discussion every year only one wins though. but when your peers hands down say if they were picking a team and there isnt even another goalie considered its price as their first selection thats for a reason. like it or not

yep nhl.com player awards the do it every year he wins it every year usually comes out i think before holiday break. this trade is good for vanouver. i think they would could seriously do damage in the palyoffs with weber and price while only losing sutter and ericksson. but thats just my opinion.
