I think you keep rust on the 1PP. Dont know if you can justify putting your team leader in goals on the 2PP. But..... I do want zucker on the 1PP and i think he should replace horny. I love horny, and he is a fantastic net front presence, but he often misses on shots from the point. I would like to see zucker in that spot as the slot trigger man.

They did it with Jake last year to accommodate Hornqvist so what’s the difference?

Wasnt the right decision then and still isnt if you ask me. The PP has not been great for 2 years now so we are missing something for sure.

It has to be coaching then...Tocchet’s powerplay was electric and they haven’t been the same since Recchi went into that role.

100%, you can put a little of it on the fact we no longer have kessel who was the puck controller along the boards but even with him last year we had so many short handed goals against. Tocchet did a fantastic job with the PP, Recchi has not impressed me as of late.

Yeah you can definitely take not having Phil into account a little bit but he was such a rare talent when it came to the powerplay and that’s when you need to rely on coaching to fill that void.

Honestly move Malkin off PP1, it seems like 99.9% of shots that he takes ends up missing the net and as a turnover, plus something big needs to change on that PP1, everybody knows how to stop them, they just line up 4 guys at the blue line, and they refuse to dump it in, PP2 does that, and it works to an extent, maybe they need to take some of the skill of the first PP, make them more even and not think they can always just carry the puck through everyone
