A 6th or even a 5th for the Devils would be an ideal fit. They need the veteran presence on the right side. I don't see Lehner leaving Vegas.

Are you referring to Chaisson?
You very well could be right about Lehner; however, if his price tag is $6M per will they be willing to have $13M in combined AAV between he and Flower?

Yes, Chaisson. If you are getting rid of him I'd love to see him on the devils. They badly need a RW.

Considering their cap situation, they could easily accommodate Chaisson. And yes he might be a smart fit for them

Considering Sweeney offered Heinen for Khaira at the deadline, I'm pretty sure Holland could squeeze more than a 4th out of him in June.

Also, what did Athanasiou do to deserve a raise?

I don't want that scrub anywhere near this Devil's team. We have enough scrubs as is.

As for the Heinen rumor, you understand that was more to do with creating cap space than Khaira the player. I mean if you feel the return will be more great however i'm not overly optimistic about that.
Athanasiou has done little to deserve a raise however he has arb rights and my gut is he will be due a minor raise ($100k - $200k) and Holland isn't going to walk away from the asset after spending 2 2nds to acquire him.

All in all its just forecasting based on some non-complex logic

Logic? This is logic: (1) If Sweeney offered Heinen, he values Khaira at more than a 4th; and (2) any arbitrator should look at AA's stats this year and conclude that he's overpaid at $3M. He'll most likely just sign the QO, which will be $3M x 1. Unless you're projecting a spike in performance down the home stretch and in the playoffs.

Logic? Heinen @ $2.8M (22pts) = Khaira @ $1.2M (10pts) on a deal that never happened... I'm missing this concrete logic you have, when considering the deal didn't occur (unless you have some sort of connection to the team rather than just what Eklund wrote) it appears you are no more informed that anybody else. And you preface your statement by saying "If" which means you are just guessing or going off a rumor. If the rumor is true the deal looks a little more like this Heinen = Khaira + $1.6M Cap Space, you can try spinning this to increase Khaira's value but no matter what its purely speculation and you're neglecting the facts

As for Athanasiou you are arguing over $200K of which I believe Holland gives based on history with the player and a desire to not take the player to arbitration. Regardless of your presumptions about "any arbitrator" the teams don't want to end up there any more than the players because they run the risk of losing a young player when a non-agreeable contract is awarded.
