LOL no, but Canes arent dealing Pesce, that would be ridiculous. Pesce was close to being a Leaf until Dubas looked at Kadris no trade list, then that dream died.

Not just Brodie or Hamonic (it would also be + on both) other names too. Well the reason we did not hear anything is because Kadri had Canes on NT list. Leafs obviously wanted Pesce. Coveted him whole last season as main to-trade-for piece and logical ask from Carolina would be a top-6 center for him. Kadri would be highly coveted piece for Canes due to his great two-way game and scoring abilities with that bit of an edge he has got. Then Canes learned and moved on to Kapanen+ which never came to life of course. Those two teams have been scouting each other heavily for past two seasons. There is a reason for it.

Yeah the Canes value Brett Pesce mighty high, It would take William Nylander and then some. Kapanen+Liljegren doesn't get it done.

Not saying it never made sense, (even though CAR would likely be getting killed on value) but we heard about the rumored CGY trade even though he blocked it with his NTC, we never, or at least I never heard of any CAR trade that got killed by Kadri's NTC

According to a friend of mine in the Canes organisation, they were never gonna deal Pesce without Nylander coming back. I don't think Kadri was getting Pesce, despite that being what the Leafs wanted

and Nazem Kadri is my cousin, he said he nixed the Canes trade because he hates Raleigh

If there was a Kadri to Raleigh trade, Pesce was not in that package, I can assure you that you would have been greatly underwhelmed
