Yeah this should go over well, Considering the tumultuous relationship between Mrazek and Holland.

Of 30 goalies that have played at least 35 games this year, Mrazek is 22nd with a .904 Sv%. Koskinen is 6th with a .917 Sv%. Mrazek would be the backup. And in any case, the UFA goalie market is flooded with talent this summer, the Oilers can pick up a guy like Greiss for about the same $ and term that Mrazek has left, with no asset cost. They certainly aren't trading a top prospect for a crappy backup.

904. I can't even imagine how bad that number would be playing behind Edmonton's defense.

If you think you're getting Greiss for less than 5, you are deluded. Mrazek gives you a cost controlled option going into next year with great %saves above expected, and a good dFSv%. Mrazek is not a backup LMAO, you should look at some meaningful stats

If he's a great starter, why aren't you advocating CAR keeps him? Oh, that's right, because he isn't a great starter. Carolina is barely clinging to the last WC spot despite having one of the best defense corps in the league - a big part of this is due to goaltending.

Since Mrazek is considerably worse than Koskinen, he'd be the backup. He also doesn't have a great history with Holland so he wouldn't be an offseason trade target for the Oilers anyhow.

And Greiss doesn't have a lot of leverage as the UFA market is flooded with talent this summer.

No, because we have Nedeljkovic who's got a great ceiling. I'd rather go with the young guy and maximise our return for him. Our xGA is one of the highest in the league, we have a great D core, but it's all injured! Pesce Hamilton and Vatanen have all not played a game since pre-deadline. We're just in a WC spot because the Metro is a bloodbath, we'd be in comfortably in the Pacific.
