I think both trades are overpaying. Frost and a 1st is beyond enough for Johnny hockey. Also JVR is better than Risto in my opinion

Having Gaudreau in Philly would be cool but giving up two centers for him makes no sense to me especially to young centers that have shown promise

Are you insane? You gotta get your head checked bud. Might have early onset Corona. This trade is not even near worth value for Flames to deal Gaudreau. Let alone a 1st and Frost being an overpayment hahahaha. Insane man, go give your head a shake.

And here's another Flames fan massively overvaluing Johnny Gaudreau tears of joy It's pathetic that everyone thinks he's still a 100 point guy. He performed as well as he did last year because everyone else on his team had career years. He's on pace for 68 points this year, which is fine, but he's only going to be declining. JG turns 27 this summer, the usual age for players to exit their prime. I agree that Frost + 1st probably isn't sufficient, but I can't understand how the Flames don't take that in the case that they are willing to deal Gaudreau. As a Flyers fan myself, I don't want to give up a good prospect or Patrick for somebody who has two years left on his contract and is somebody who we don't even need. I don't know what you think the price is, but he's not going to Philly.

They need a top 6 winger and risto is losing value. JVE is solid and Hagg is a good LD option for the Sabres who need help on D

I see a move for Johnny as an all in move for the Flyers to go for the cup over the next 2 years. I think it’s just an off year for Johnny. He’s been really good for the back half of the year and will add more scoring to the lineup. These top 2 lines in Philly would be filthy.

I think it can be debatable for whether Johnny is the right piece for the Flyers. Our definite, solid top-six forwards right now are Giroux, Couturier, Voracek, Konecny, Hayes, and maybe van Riemsdyk. I personally don't want to trade van Riemsdyk or Hagg, but since they are traded here, let's just say they do get traded. That leaves us with five top-six forwards, which means we have an open spot on our second line, preferably a left winger. Gaudreau would be a nice addition, but I don't want to kill the development of some our younger guys either. I'm confident that Lindblom will return by next season and he's been awesome in our top-six, both offensively and defensively. He was leading the team in goals before he diagnosed with cancer after all. If he isn't back, then Laughton can fill that role. I understand the "win-now" mentality, but if things are clicking for us right now, then I won't want a change-up. I'd like to see how things play out next year before we go after Gaudreau. I don't want to pay that high of a price if it won't have as much of an impact.

Risto's value is going up if you watched him this year. And we do not a left hand D . Pipeline of defensemen is very full
