What would it take to sign Pietrangelo

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
What would it take to sign pietrangelo assuming he makes 10mil per season and the cap raises to the maximum 88.2mil.

You would need to play with 21/23 people on your roster for 25% of the season then you could actually exceed the cap for 75% of the season by the $296,866 that the cap is exceeded by. You can maneuver around the cap a bit since the figure you must stay under (88.2mil in this case) is the average salary paid to your roster-players over the year so you can exceed the number so long as you make up for it for being below the cap for a period of the season.

If you can trade Johnsson or Kerfoot for players that can fill out the bottom 6 for cheap contracts then that is ideal. Robertson may not be ready, but his compete level won;t make him a liability. His shot would fit on our first powerplay.

Also if woll or scott can make the jump we can trade campbell and keep clifford/bolster or botton 6 with other more expensive players.

If we can sign pietrangelo for cheaper and also get dermot for 2 years 2.5mil then we can keep johnsson or kerfoot.

There is like a 2% chance the cap gets to 88.2M and maybe a 50% chance it even gets to 84M. The NHLPA wont let it skyrocket and if people stop going to games because of Coronavirus that will lower the leagues income significantly as well. Regardless, if by some miracle it does reach 88.2 or near St. Louis is 100% resigning him

The whole Pietrangelo contract aside, this season has shown that running a 21 man roster is a big mistake. Gotta roll with at least 22 man roster but I'd lean towards a proper 23 man roster.
