the picks are projected 14 and 17. If they were to throw in howden, easily possible

I can't see any team that would be picking top 3 making that trade, they all need top end talent and this draft has it, to get pick three from the teams more likely to be there (DET, LA, OTT, ANA) they all need top end talent like Byfield to trade into the top three in this draft that would cost in the Rangers case those 2 firsts and a top prospect I would think and at that point it isn't worth it for the Rangers and they'd be better off keeping 14 and 17, I think it would take a Lundkvist, Kratsov or Miller type add to get into the top 3

Last year ARI jumped from 14-11 in a weaker draft and the trade was Pick 11 for picks 14 and 45, jumping from 14 to 3 in a much better draft for a much better prospect the cost would be significant

if ott gets multiple in top 5 its feasible.

I think it is feasible with any of the above teams, the cost would just be significant, for sure more than picks 14 and 17

Not sure what's more unrealistic: that trade for a top 3 pick or thinking that Byfield is NHL ready next year....
