i dont like his personality from the way he acted with Yzerman in Tampa. Idk how hes been in MTL
yeah i guess i seen it as a kid growing up
keep in mind i down play that knowing how close he and his dad are .
i figured there would be an impact when they were seperated finally
Serge was at all Drouins games in Junior including Road games and gave up a lot to support his son including moving to Halifax without putting pressure on him like other parents.
Then he was ripped from that safety blanket and shipped to the states to bounce back and forth between NY and FLA
He was a french kid who didnt go to school or learn social development like the rest of us so he lashed out in a way we'd consider innapropriate .
He was at his fathers side from the time he could walk until when he was drafted and the growing pains around that were big
had Serge like most parents let his son stay with a host family in Halifax maybe he's more independent but at the same time maybe Jonathon declines without that extra coaching that Serge gives him .
i still talk to Serge here and there at games when he's in town to see a playoff game at the Wildcat's home turf
last year he was telling me Jonathon gave up on trying to get faster because he needed to put on size to protect himself .
Serge went on to say that his son didnt feel like he had the size to create space on the ice and since MTL only has 1 Armia doing so he bulked up .
I think like any home school kid you expect problems but with a homeschool kid who went from a mid 1st rounder projected to Mckinnon leaving Shuttucks early to join Drouins team he shot up the rankings to top 3 in the draft and instant fame . People forget he went from just another french forward prospect to Jesus's right hand man over night seemingly
