Werenski to Detroit trades with Calgary and Chicago

Created by: Jacketsman61

Description
Yzerman is adamant about building this Red Wings team around Larkin. Larkin will be an UFA in 3 years. This team needs to start showing some improvement. Detroit lacks everything on the back end. Besides Werenski being from Michigan, him and Larkin are very good friends. This could go a long ways of not only improving this team on the ice but keeping Larkin in the fold. Both these guys become cornerstones for Detroit's rebuild. Wennberg helps create solid defense down the middle of the ice and maybe a change of scenery might spark his offensive game.

The Jackets get back a haul for Werenski. Veleno can instantly become a top 6 contributor at the center position that has been sorely needed. Rasmussen gives the Jackets another high end player who could provide depth on LW and have flexibility to play center if needed. As we all know Torts loves his line blender.

Calgary has wanted to get tougher on the wings, right wing in particular and this trade accomplishes that.

Chicago needs another goaltender. Right now as it stands, Delia and Malcolm Subban are the goaltenders they have to choose from to be their starter. Delia maybe a good goaltender but is unproven and Malcolm Subban is mediocre at best. Making the trade for Korpisalo gives them a more proven option.

If Z gets traded, it will be for a stud top 6 forward, not futures.

Just don't know if the Wings are super interested in taking all that cap. Sure Larkin is a UFA in three years, but Werenski can be UFA in four years.

Doesn't seem like enough for Werenski, too much for Anderson.

Edjsell is clear he is not coming to North America so from CBJ perspective it’s not a good idea to add him as your prospect. I don’t mind the trade otherwise but hawks will more than likely resign Crawford. He’s played well since being #1.

I don't get the love for ANderson on this site. I like what he brings physically and he has scored consistently before this season, but are we just gonna ignore the terrible year he's had? Him landing a first on his own is an overpay IMO

This is an overpay but he’s Been hurt all year (even when he was playing) and he’s a player that is in short supply around the league.

As soon as I see "Werenski to Detroit" I think "that'd better be Dylan Larkin coming back, because nobody else comes close."

It's not Dylan Larkin. Therefore fail.
