That Parise deal is soooo long and for soo much money. MIN might have to pony up more to retain 1.5 million for 5 more seasons IMO

Yeah, I'm starting to sour on the Parise idea. Just not worth it. There are other ways to get rid of Ladd.

Ladd scored a goal last night. Maybe he'll return to his jets days of scoring close to 30 a year.
Im pretty sure the jets offered Ladd a 6 year, 36 million deal and he turned it down. Dodged one there...and I wanted him back with the jets

Ladd is one of the worst contracts in the league, and is probably 1 hit away from another knee surgery. But I will give him credit for working all year in the minors to fight back into the NHL and now that he is back play hard every shift he is on the ice. The last 2 games he has been noticeable in a positive way.

I was joking a bit about his full comeback, but you're right...he's been working hard to get back and looks like a real NHLer as of late. The Islanders are stuck with him as of right now so they might as well get as much out of him as possible

Parise is actually productive though, even if he's overpaid. I would hope Guerin doesn't make a trade like that, the Wild don't escape the cap recapture if he retires in a couple years and Ladd is a blackhole right now. Bellows doesn't seem like a sure thing either.

I don't disagree that Parise is better than Ladd, that's a given. I just don't want the cap complications. We're not in a position to add cap.
