He's played 1RD since game 2 this season, averaging 18:19 per game at 5v5 - 14th most minutes by a defenseman in the league. All while facing the toughest competition. Seven years x $4.25M is a value contract for this player, I'd be ecstatic if Holland could get him to sign this deal.

Yup. He's good on the power play and decent at 5v5 if given some shelter, so that's why Tippett has had him in the bottom 6 recently. The Neal-Khaira-Chiasson line has gone 3-0 in the past 3 games.

haha what does this have to do with Calgary at all? Bear has been our best dman all season. Has the same point total in his rookie year as that Andersson dude has. And from what I've seen is a far superior puck mover. $4.5M at 7 or 8 years would probably the highest I go for him though. Ideally, I'd like to see a 4 yea deal @ $2.5M-3.5M. I'd be extatic is he was locked long term around $4M though.

HAHA this coming from a leafs fan. Four forwards making 40 million! You obviously haven't watched many Oilers games. If Edmonton got Bear for 4.25 for 7 years that would be amazing!
