Description

This obviously assumes that O'Conner comes flying out of camp and looks very good. Marino looked fantastic right out of college and I know its kinda rare but its not impossible. Who knows? From what i have read he was a highly sought after NCAA free agent.

Assuming Cap goes up to 84M, you have some left over cash to extend Marino next season as well. Could also use it as flexibility with trades and adding forward depth.

Reminder: it's insanely rare a (EDIT) UNDRAFTED college forward EVER turns into a top 6 forward. The best one in the last 20 years was Tyler Bozak and he's decent middle 6 player in his prime. College defensemen aren't that different but there's a better chance you'll get a top 4 D than a top 6F.

you're not wrong, it is indeed a big IF but just thought it would be nice to see how great it would be for the pens if it did happen.
