Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

If public health concerns preclude live audiences at sporting events for the rest of the regular season and playoffs, I think Hockey-Related-Revenue could take a big hit.

Not saying it's probable but if it were to happen that the cap went DOWN, a lot of teams would be scrambling to cut salary.

The last time the cap went down, teams were gifted a compliance buyout. If this were to happen again, I think the Blackhawks would use it on Seabrook.

That being said, there would still need to be quite a bit of cutting salary via buyouts and trades. But if every team suddenly has less money to spend, the amount of teams able to take on a cap down goes down pretty dramatically.

Trade Shaw and smith if you’re gonna torch the AHL and you’re careers
Covid 19 will not effect nhl bargaining(I’d be shocked)

Covid 19 (but mostly the NHLPA) will prevent the cap from getting anywhere near 88.2M. I dont expect it to get passed 84 tbh
